farm animal interaction

GAIT is fortunate to be located at Green Acres Ranch, which is a beautiful 40-acre property located in the heart of Temecula, California. With over one-hundred horses living on this property, Green Acres is also home to a variety of loving and gentle farm animals including cows, goats, donkeys, and tortoises that all GAIT students are able to meet and interact with.

Individuals can experience the sight, sound, and feel of farm animals through hands-on interaction. Building relationships with small animals often helps children learn how to regulate stress and anxiety, making them better equipped to meet the challenges of their disabilities.

Small Animal Interactive Therapy is often used as a stepping stone toward large animal interaction and therapeutic riding and is included with all visits out to GAIT.

BENEFITs to farm animal interaction

Small Animal Interaction allows clients to explore the outdoors, appreciate nature, and form bonds with animals.  Often times family members of our clients enjoy the small animals.  Siblings who interact with the small animals feel included in our client's program.
